Organoids are self-organized three-dimensional cell complexes in vitro developed from stem cells. They serve as ideal drug screening models that more accurately mimic in vivo physiological states compared to conventional two-dimensional cells. Microfluidic technologies, due to their capability for flexible manipulation of micro fluid volumes, perfectly align with the technical requirements for high-throughput drug screening using organoids. Consequently, microfluidic technologies have garnered widespread attention and research in the context of organoids-based drug screening. This paper provided a categorized review of the existing microfluidic technologies for organoid culture and drug delivery, etc. Additionally, it introduced current applications of microfluidic technologies in drug sensitivity testing based on patient-derived organoids and new drug screening. Finally, the paper discussed and forecasted further applications and development directions of microfluidic technologies in organoids-based drug screening.
